Josh Burt

Josh Burt has been named head coach of the Southwestern College women’s basketball program in 2025.

Burt, a native of Salina, Kansas, comes to Southwestern with a strong background in collegiate coaching. He most recently served as an assistant coach at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, an NCAA Division II program. His résumé also includes stops at Newman University, Bethel College and with the Ohlde Elite Women’s Club Program (AAU), where he played a key role in recruiting and developing high-caliber talent.

At Nebraska-Kearney, Burt was instrumental in recruiting, player development and in-game strategy, helping the program earn multiple MIAA Conference Tournament appearances. While at Newman, he helped guide the team to its first-ever MIAA tournament berth. His leadership at Bethel College contributed to historic success, including the program’s first national tournament appearance in 2021.

Burt brings a proven track record of success and program-building experience. His ability to recruit and develop talent at all levels will be central to leading the Moundbuilders into the future.
