WINFIELD, Kan – Wednesday, October 11, 2023, the Mounbuilders (9-9,2-4) swept the Falcons (7-19,0-7) at home, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23.

The Builders came out energized against the Falcons. But trading points in the first set, it wasn't until SC was down 7-10, when they put a five-point run on the Falcons from a Baylee York Kill, a Daci Stover kill, a Falcon error, another Stover Kill and an Avery Riedel ace capped off the run, to go up 12-10.

Trading points again and down 13-15, the Builders put together another four-point run and after holding off the Falcons at 19-19, the Builders finished it 25-21.

The Builders never relinquished the lead in the second set. Holding the Falcons at bay behind five Hannah Weber kills. Five Emma Lincoln kills and one block. Two Baylee York kills and one block. Two Daci Stover kills and two blocks. Callie Snowbarger, Sophia Wicker, and Kasandra Lyons all had a kill in the second set each.

The Falcons came out fighting in the third set, trading points to 5-5 and Builders tied it again at 8-8, continuing to trade points back and forth until 19-19. The Builders were able to pull away behind two kills from Lincoln, and kills from York, Haley Shaw, and a game ending kill from Lyons, to win 25-23.

The Builders will be celebrating Senior Night, this Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1pm against Sterling College (13-7, 3-4).
