WINFIELD, KAN. – On Wednesday, October 4th, the Southwestern College men's soccer team welcomed the visiting Eagles of Avila University for a Wednesday night Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference game at Richard L. Jantz Stadium in Winfield, Kan. The Builders impressed with beautiful play as they finished the Eagles 4-0.

The game started in favor of the Builders as Hector Hernandez received a corner kick and curved the ball over the goalkeepers' hands into the goal to score the first goal for the Builders. Then, in the 39th minute of play, Carlos Cantu received a pass from Ivan Palacios and pushed the ball past the goalkeeper to score the second goal. The Builders, now up by two goals, felt the momentum and kept going. In the 43rd minute, the Builders received a free kick. Isaac Hopkins stepped up, hit the ball perfectly, and scored an absolute beauty into the top right corner of the goal.

Coming back from halftime, the Builders continued to shine. In the 48th minute, Eduardo Gonzalez scored the fourth and final goal to win the game, 4-0. He was assisted by Mamadou Diarra.

Diarra led the team in shots (5), where 2 of them went on goal, and goalkeeper KJ Masso earned a clean sheet with seven saves.
