Builders Spark Comeback Win on the Road

After being down 0-2, the Moundbuilders battle back to win the final three sets and complete the comeback for their first win of the season in a five-set thriller on the road at Southwestern Christian.

The third set marked the turning point, for SC as they decisively took the third set, 25-18, signaling the comeback and shifting the momentum. The Builders secured the win in the final two sets, 22-25, 10-15.

SC Key Players:
  • Baylee York displayed incredible attacking prowess, contributing 11 kills at an impressive hitting percentage of .381.
  • Malieokekai DaMatte showed her offensive skills with 10 kills, despite facing strong opposition from the Southwestern Christian defense.
  • Daci Stover played a vital role with her 11 kills and solid blocking, adding to the overall team's defensive strength.
  • Gabi Theut contributed both offensively and defensively, tallying 8 kills and 13 digs.
  • Sophie Wicker showcased her versatility with 2 kills, 32 assists, and 4 digs.
The Moundbuilders will be on the road again, Friday, Aug. 25, 2033 at the Missouri Valley Tournament in Marshall, Mo. Game one, against the host school, Missouri Valley, at 5 pm. Game two, Clarke University at 7 pm. And game three, Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 against Graceland University at 3 pm.
