WINFIELD, Kan. — Wednesday, January 10, 2024, every Moundbuilder in uniform would score as Southwestern (12-2, 7-2) delivered an emphatic performance on their home court, historic Stewart Field House, as they overwhelmed Bethany College (2-12,1-8) with a resounding 97-60 victory.
As Southwestern looked to get back in the win column after two straight losses, they connected on 19 of 40 attempts in the first half, including 7-of-17 from beyond the arc to get right.
The momentum continued in the second half, with Southwestern building their largest lead of 39 points, and winning by a 37 point gap.
Cevin Clark led the charge, connecting on 11 of 17 field goals, including 7-of-13 from three-point range, to finish with 29 points.
Jarvis Jennings added 15 points, seven rebounds.
Wyatt Bell contributed 11 points and five rebounds.
Justin DeMaria locked in nine points, seven rebounds.
Trey White added nine points and seven rebounds.
Andrew O'Brien led the Builders in assists with six, and four points, three rebounds.
The Builder defense limited the Swedes to 34.5% shooting for the game, and Southwestern outrebounded Bethany 51-32 on the boards.
Southwestern is back on the road at Ottawa University (10-5, 5-4), Saturday, Jan. 13, tip off at 5pm.
