WINFIELD, KAN. - On Wednesday, January 24, the Southwestern College women's basketball squad went on the road to battle the Bluejays of Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kan. The game turned out to be a competitive face-off, resulting in a 74-52 victory for Tabor College.
The Builders started strong as they led the first quarter 10-9. Unfortunately, the Bluejays started to find their rhythm in the game and came back in the second quarter. At halftime, Tabor led with a score of 34-22. Tabor exhibited a 53.33% field goal percentage in the second quarter, while Southwestern had a 26.67% field goal percentage.
In the third quarter, Southwestern improved their field goal percentage to 35.71%, whereas Tabor's dropped to 25.00%. Despite the Builder's efforts to mount a comeback, the Bluejays maintained control of the game, securing their lead and ultimately clinching the win, 74-52.
Christy Wiebe played a crucial role in Southwestern's offense and defense, contributing 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Builders will be back in action on January 27 when they battle York University in York, Neb.
