McPherson College set the tone early, shooting an impressive 50% from the field in the first quarter, while Southwestern College struggled, shooting 20% from the field and found themselves down, 10-18.

The Bulldogs held the Builders to only 8 points in the second quarter as Southwestern found themselves behind at the half, 18-35.

The Builders came out inspired in the third quarter, playing the Bulldogs to two points for the quarter, 14-16, and found themselves down 34-49 heading into the final quarter. Heather Chiesi, Macey Pond, and Haven Matthews combined for 10 of Southwestern's 14 points in the quarter.  

In the fourth,  Southwestern shot an impressive 66.67% in the quarter, however, McPherson secured the win, 70-56.

McPherson's Matisyn Moses led all scorers with 24 points.

Pond finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds.

Christy Wiebe had 12 points, 7 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

Chiesi added 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

The Builders will back at home at Stewart Field House, Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 6pm, against Bethany College (6-8, 4-4).
