NORTH NEWTON, Kan. —Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, No. 9-ranked Southwestern College defeated Bethel College on the road, 97-89.
Southwestern shot 40 percent from the field in the first half and 46.67 percent from the three-point line.
Wyatt Bell and
Trey Abasolo combined for four of the seven three pointers in the first half, as the Builders took a 42-34 lead into halftime.
Cevin Clark was held to 10 first half points and exploded for 19 second half points to lead all scorers with 29 points. Calrk went 14-of-17 from the free throw line as well.
Andrew O'Brien's versatility was on full display as he finished with a double-double, 13 points and 16 rebounds, and seven assists, to help secure the 97-89 victory.
Off the bench,
Justin DeMaria dropped 20 points and three rebounds.
Bell finished with 10 points and four rebounds.
Abasolo had 10 points and two rebounds.
Zach Hidalgo snatched six rebounds along with
Jarvis Jennings who grabbed five rebounds for the Builders.
The Builders will be back at home Wed., Feb. 14, against Friends University, tip off 7 pm for Pink Night.
