Builder Baseball Falls to Mid-America Christian University

WINFIELD, KAN. - On Sunday and Monday, February 18/19, the Builder Baseball squad hosted play to the visiting Evangels of Mid-America Christian University at Broadway Sports Complex in Winfield, Kan. A three-game match over two days ended in three-wins for the visitors.

Game 1:
In the opening game of the series, Mid-America Christian University (MACU) dominated Southwestern College (SWC) with a final score of 13-2. MACU showcased a strong offensive performance, tallying 12 hits while committing no errors. SWC struggled to generate offense, managing only one hit and committing three errors.

MACU took an early lead in the 1st inning when N. McGarry-D tripled to right field, bringing home D. Gaines. SWC responded in the 2nd inning with a solo home run by L. Gage, tying the game briefly. However, MACU regained control in the 3rd inning, capitalizing on SWC's defensive errors to extend their lead. MACU continued to pile on runs, highlighted by a 4th inning surge where they scored five runs, including a home run by M. Burton.
Despite a late run by SWC in the 7th inning, MACU secured a convincing victory in the series opener.

Game 2:

In the second game of the series, MACU continued their offensive prowess, defeating SWC 12-6. MACU's hitters produced 10 hits, including several home runs, while SWC struggled to contain their opponent's offense.

MACU took an early lead once again with back-to-back home runs in the 4th inning by A. Hampton and K. Williams. SWC managed to score a couple of runs in the later innings, but MACU's offense proved too potent. Notably, N. McGarry-D's homer in the 8th inning sealed the victory for MACU.

Despite a late rally by SWC, MACU maintained their lead to secure their second win of the series.

Game 3:

In the final game of the series, MACU dominated SWC with a resounding 18-1 victory. MACU's offense exploded for 18 hits, including multiple extra-base hits, while SWC struggled both offensively and defensively.

MACU set the tone early, scoring three runs in the 1st inning, and continued to build upon their lead throughout the game. Key offensive contributors for MACU included A. Hampton, D. Gaines, and K. Williams, who each delivered multiple RBIs.

Despite a lone run by SWC in the 4th inning, MACU's pitching and defense remained solid, limiting SWC's opportunities to score. MACU sealed the victory with a dominant offensive display, capping off a successful series.

Overall, Mid-America Christian University showcased their offensive firepower and solidified their dominance over Southwestern College, winning all three games of the series convincingly.

The Builders will be back in action on Tuesday, February 20th at 1:00 PM when they battle Newman University in a nine inning match at Broadway Sports Complex in Winfield, Kan.
