LINDSBORG, Kan. — No. 9-ranked Southwestern College men's basketball defeated Bethany College, 75-58.
Justin DeMaria emerged as the Builders offensive weapon, leading Southwestern with an impressive 28 points. Shooting 6-of-10 from three-point range.
Southwestern's defense held Bethany 18.5 percent from beyond the arc and just 40.3% shooting from the field. They also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 17 points from Bethany's mistakes. Southwestern's bench was able to outscore Bethany, 38-12.
Cevin Clark added 17 points and two rebounds.
Zach Hidalgo had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Andrew O'Brien finished with 11 assists and nine rebounds.
With the end of the regular season, the Builders finished 23-4 overall, and 18-4 in the KCAC.
Southwestern will host the first round of the KCAC Championship Tournament, Thursday, Feb. 29 at Historic Stewart Field House at 7pm against McPherson College.
