WINFIELD, Kan. — No. 9-ranked Southwestern College men's basketball team secured a convincing 93-79 victory over McPherson College in the opening round of the KCAC tournament.

Cevin Clark, the nation's No. 1 scorer, led the offensive onslaught for Southwestern, pouring in 35 points to lead all scorers. He shot 5-of-8 from beyond the arc.

Southwestern's offensive attack was balanced with three players scoring in double figures.
Jarvis Jennings exploded in the first half  scoring 15 of his 18 points, finishing 3-of-5 from three, while
Andrew O'Brien added 14 points and grabbed an impressive 11 rebounds.

Southwestern shot an impressive 53.7% from the field, and an even more impressive 53.6 percent from beyond the arc.

The Builders secured 43 rebounds as a team, compared to McPherson's 36.
Trey White had eight rebounds,
Mason Thiessen had seven rebounds, eight points, and
Zach Hidalgo finished with six rebounds.

The win sends Southwestern on the road back to Salina, for the third installment against Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday, March 2, tip off at 7pm. The winner will advance to Hartman Arena for the KCAC Championship game on Monday, March 4.Â
