Kansas City, MO  — Southwestern College faced a tough challenge in a two-game series against Avila College, resulting in back-to-back losses for the Builders.

Southwestern lost 1-11 at Avila University. Avila's offense exploded early, scoring a run in the first inning and adding four more in the third. Despite a late effort by Southwestern in the seventh inning, led by Carlos Camacho's single, Avila's pitching and solid defense kept them in control throughout the game.
Game 2 | Southwestern 3 Avila 13
In the second game of the series, Avila's offense continued to light up the scoreboard, 13-4. The Builders struggled to handle the relentless Avila offense, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding onto their lead in subsequent innings. Despite efforts by Southwestern to close the gap. The Moundbuilders recorded 6 hits,  London Penland went 2 for 4. Justin Nichols, Trevor Abitita and Tyler Seboldt all had hits. Cooper Reeves delivered an impactful home run in the first inning. Despite their efforts, Southwestern struggled to capitalize, with only 3 runs scored.
