WICHITA, Kan. - Southwestern took down the Falcons on their home floor 80-68 in KCAC action.
The Moundbuilder men's basketball team started strong against Friends this Wednesday evening. They opened the gate with a 3-point shooting spectacle, leading 13-7 before a Falcons timeout. Out of the timeout, the Falcons went on a run of their own, taking a 24-18 lead before a Builder timeout.
The builders came out of the timeout hot again and kept their pedal from the three-point line hot. Eventually the Builders took a 40-33 halftime lead. Out of the half, Southwestern stretched their lead by almost 20 points and took control of the pace the rest of the way, eventually coming out victorious 80-68.Ā
You can tell the game plan for the Falcons was to keep the ball out of hot shooting
Wyatt Bell's hands, as they did accomplish slowing him down. But it was next man up for the builders all night long. Junior
Zach Hidalgo almost finished with his usual double double, scoring 8 points and ripping down 16 rebounds.
Mr. Versatile
Trey Abasolo had himself another good night, finishing with 13 points, 3 assists, and 5 rebounds.
Sharpshooters Justin Demaria and
Austin Hilton finished with 14 and 13 points; both of them only attempted 7 shots apiece.
Evan Barber controlled the ball the majority of the game as he led all scorers with 17 points.Ā
The Builders will be back in action at Sterling College on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 3 p.m.
