WINFIELD, Kan. – Southwestern College struggled to contain Sterling's offense in a 16-3 loss at Broadway Sports Complex. The Warriors tallied 15 hits while capitalizing on four Moundbuilder errors.
Sterling set the tone early with five runs in the first inning and never looked back. Jaxon Parmenter led the charge, going 4-for-4 with six RBIs, including a two-run triple in the sixth.
Southwestern found early success on the basepaths. Andrew Brautman and Ayden Markovich each swiped a base, with Markovich scoring in the first on a steal.
Marco Ayala also crossed the plate twice for the Moundbuilders.
Brice Nittler drove in a run with a groundout in the third, but the offense stalled after that, managing just six hits on the day.
J.J. Cardinal provided a bright spot at the plate, collecting two hits, while Heath Pantoja added a base hit and reached via a walk.
On the mound, Jayden Hensley took the loss for Southwestern, while Sterling's pitching staff held the Builders scoreless over the final five frames.
