Lady Builders Eye Strong Finish at Pitt State Tune-Up

WINFIELD, Kan. (April 17, 2025) — The Southwestern College women's track and field team heads to Pittsburg State University on Thursday for the Pitt State Tune-Up at Carnie Smith Stadium, looking to sharpen performances ahead of the postseason stretch.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, the meet was moved up to Thursday to take advantage of favorable weather conditions. The one-day event will feature a full slate of competition against regional programs and NAIA contenders.

Action for the Lady Builders kicks off at 1 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and high jump, followed by events throughout the day, including the javelin, pole vault, long jump, and discus. On the track, Southwestern athletes will compete in the 100-meter dash and hurdles, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters, 200 meters, and 5000 meters, as well as the 3000-meter steeplechase. Relay squads will also compete in the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays.

With momentum building throughout the spring, Southwestern's women will look to post personal bests and top finishes in what promises to be a competitive day of action in southeast Kansas.
