WINFIELD, Kan.  — The Southwestern College Athletic Hall of Fame will welcome six new members and two historic men's basketball teams during its annual induction ceremony Friday, Oct. 24, inside Stewart Field House.
The evening begins with a 5 p.m. social, followed by dinner and the ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for a table of eight. Reservations are required by Tuesday, Oct. 16, through Vanessa Mendoza, athletics administrative assistant, at (620) 229-6218.
The inductees will also be recognized at halftime of the Southwestern-Friends University Homecoming football game on Oct. 25.
Inductees
The 2025 class features former standout athletes and influential teams:

Carmen Doramus-Kinley ('98): A dual-sport athlete in volleyball and basketball, Doramus-Kinley was a captain, multiple-time KCAC Player of the Week, and MVP in volleyball. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and later broke barriers as an official, becoming the first female to referee a Class 4A Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League football game and working the 2022 NAIA Football Championship.

Brett (Bates) Tahah ('12): A transfer from Oklahoma City University, Tahah was KCAC Newcomer of the Year in 2011 and Player of the Year in 2012. She remains one of the top scorers and free throw shooters in program history. She is now a high school science teacher and successful basketball coach in Okarche, Okla.

Chad Hamlin ('96): A two-sport athlete in basketball and track, Hamlin set the SC high jump record at 7 feet in 1996, a mark that still stands. He earned multiple All-American honors and later coached while managing his family farm in southwest Kansas.

Christine (Sheppard) Camacho ('14): A four-time NAIA national qualifier in track and field, Camacho was a 23-time All-KCAC performer and set six conference meet records. She remains in SC's all-time top 10 in multiple sprint events.

Lorenzo Fouts ('14): A standout defensive back and return specialist in football, Fouts earned All-American honors and broke six school records. He went on to play professionally in the Indoor Football League and German Football League.

Timmy Taylor ('87): A football and track athlete, Taylor was an eight-time KCAC champion and three-time NAIA All-American. He still contributes to the sport through coaching and mentoring young athletes.
Team Inductions
Two storied men's basketball teams will also be honored:

1938-39 National Championship Team: Coached by George Gardner, the squad defeated San Diego State in Kansas City to claim the NAIA title, marking one of the program's greatest achievements.

1977-78 KCAC Championship Team: After a 2-8 start, the Builders rallied to capture the conference title and upset Washburn University in the District 10 playoffs.
Athletic Director's Remarks
"What an incredible class of inductees; to be able to celebrate these individuals and a team that have strengthened Southwestern through their talent and grit is truly a privilege," athletic director Matt O'Brien said. "We're excited to host so many who care deeply for Southwestern athletics in historic Stewart Field House for a memorable evening."
