WICHITA, Kan. — Southwestern College will look to make it two straight wins over Hesston College when the teams meet again Friday in the Friends University Tournament. 

The Moundbuilders (2-8) swept Hesston 3-0 on Sept. 2 in Winfield, hitting .315 as a team while holding the Larks to a negative hitting percentage. Mikki Johnson leads Southwestern with 98 kills this season, averaging 2.65 per set, while Autumn Bennett adds 2.36 kills per set with a team-best .250 hitting percentage. Setter Natalie Blaufuss has been steady with 157 assists, and libero Avery Riedel paces the back row with 129 digs.

Hesston (0-4) is still searching for its first win after setbacks to Langston, Tabor, Calvary, and Southwestern. Kennedie Esparza leads the Larks with 19 kills, while Layla Romero has added 16. Se'Maiya Farrow has been a key distributor with 39 assists. Defensively, Kadence Taylor has collected a team-high 44 digs.

Friday's neutral-site matchup is part of the Friends University-hosted tournament, which brings together programs from across the region. The Moundbuilders hope to build momentum off their sweep of Hesston earlier in the week, while the Larks look for payback and their first victory of the season.
