WINFIELD, Kan. – The Southwestern College men's tennis team was edged out in a closely contested match against Saint Mary, falling 3-4.
The doubles matches set the tone with Southwestern's
Albert Modol and
Pablo Rodriguez having exceptional teamwork, securing a crucial win against Eutsey and Maritz of Saint Mary. Meanwhile,
Magnus Hauska and
David Monroe showcased their dominance, clinching another victory against Ogrizovich and Ross of Saint Mary.
As the match transitioned to singles, Southwestern's Rodriguez fell to Eutsey of Saint Mary in a thrilling match that went to a decisive tiebreaker. And, Saint Mary's Maritz narrowly defeating Modol of in a closely contested battle.
In the remaining singles matches, Saint Mary's Contrucci and Ogrizovich secured wins against Hauska and Monroe. Despite efforts from Claiborne and Johnson, Saint Mary's Ross and Serrano emerged victorious in their matches, securing the overall win.
