WICHITA, Kan. — Southwestern College men's tennis dropped all of its day one singles and doubles matches Friday against a strong field of opponents.
In singles play,
Drake Lowe lost to Friends University's Cristobal Fuentez 8–0.
Ian Quintero fell to Evangel's Diego Emilio Chavarria 8–0, while
Connor Stampley dropped an 8–0 decision to McPherson's Balazs Temesvari.
Victor Arias was defeated by Saint Mary's Carlos Grimaldi 8–0.
Tyron Spears had the closest match of the day, falling 8–6 to Oklahoma Wesleyan's Manuel Espinal.
In doubles action, Stampley and Lowe lost 8–0 to Saint Mary's Nils Dueppe and Evan Maritz. Arias and Quintero paired up but were defeated 8–2 by Evangel's Emiliano Arjona and Chavarria.
Southwestern will compete next at the ITA Regional Tournament, set for Sept. 26–28 in Salina, Kan.
