Newton, Kan. – On Monday and Tuesday, April 8-9th, the Southwestern College men's and women's golf squads made their way to Newton, Kan., where thy competed at the Bethany College Classics at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course. In a spirited display of talent and determination, the women's golf team secured a commendable 3rd place finish, while the men's team clinched the 8th spot in the latest tournament.
Women's Golf:
- The women's team showcased consistency throughout, posting identical scores of 330 in both rounds, tallying up to a total of 660.
- Leading the charge was Ashlee Johnson, who secured 2nd place with a stellar performance, carding scores of 75 and 80 for a total of 155.
- Lauren Kelly also delivered an impressive performance, finishing tied for 4th with rounds of 82 and 78, resulting in a total score of 160.
- Iommi Paulsen showed resilience, tying for 14th place with scores of 84 in both rounds, totaling 168.
- Katie Barnett and Kylee Woffinden contributed to the team's success, finishing tied for 26th and 30th places, respectively.
Men's Golf:
- The men's team battled hard, finishing in 8th place with a total score of 627, posting 321 in the first round and improving to 306 in the second.
- Aaron Delgado led the charge for the men, securing 13th place with impressive rounds of 74 and 73, totaling 147.
- Charlie Bentley and Brayden Arnott showcased their skills, finishing tied for 33rd and tied for 36th, respectively.
- Caleb White and Jackson Strohl also contributed to the team effort, finishing tied for 48th and 52nd places, respectively.
