WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College quarterback Jamie Odom has been named both the KCAC Offensive Player of the Week and the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week following a commanding seven-touchdown performance that propelled the Moundbuilders to a 59–28 season-ending victory over Kansas Wesleyan.
The honor marks Odom's third KCAC weekly award of the season and his second NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week recognition in 2025, capping one of the strongest quarterback campaigns in the country.
Odom, a 6-foot-2 junior from San Diego, completed 27 of 44 passes for 406 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 9.2 yards per attempt and finishing the game without an interception. He added a 12-yard rushing touchdown early in the second quarter, opening a scoring surge that Southwestern carried throughout the afternoon.
His longest completion came on a 59-yard strike to Bryce Chambers, the first of two second-quarter touchdown connections between the duo. Odom added another scoring throw midway through the third quarter before sealing his performance with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. His final score — a four-yard pass to Matthew Holthusen — pushed Odom to 41 touchdown passes on the season, making him the NAIA's top scoring quarterback for the 2025 regular season.
Holthusen's touchdown reception, his 17th of the year, also tied him for the NAIA lead in receiving touchdowns.
Odom's performance was felt in every phase of the offense. In addition to his passing totals, he rushed for 18 yards and caught a 16-yard pass for a score, contributing 34 all-purpose yards to Southwestern's attack.
The victory elevated Southwestern to No. 22 in the final NAIA coaches poll, closing the season with an 8–3 overall record and a 3–2 mark in the KCAC Bissell Division.
Odom's weekly honors further solidify his place among the nation's elite quarterbacks as the Moundbuilders turn the page toward the 2026 campaign.
