Southwestern Women's Track Team Heads to Dean Pryor Invitational
WINFIELD, Kan. —The Southwestern College women's indoor track team will travel to Coffeyville, Kansas, to compete in the Dean Pryor Invitational, looking to build on their performances so far this season.
The Moundbuilders have posted competitive results across multiple events, with several athletes primed for strong showings.
Kyah Hill will be a key sprinter for Southwestern, competing in the 60-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter dashes, while
Meliah Hanna will take on a full slate of events, including the 800 meters, 60-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump, and pentathlon. Distance runner
Lauryn Peterson will represent the team in the mile.
In the field events,
Malia Pearson will compete in the shot put, while
Vanessa Mendoza will take on the weight throw. The 4x400-meter relay team featuring
Jaylee Santana,
Abigail Eckert,
Meliah Hanna, and
Kyah Hill will also look to make an impact.
Event Schedule
The Dean Pryor Invitational begins with field events at 1 p.m., followed by track events at 2 p.m. The schedule includes a mix of sprint, mid-distance, and distance races, as well as hurdles and relays.
