Southwestern Men Head to Pittsburg State for Weather-Shifted Meet

WINFIELD, Kan. (April 17, 2025) — The Southwestern College men's track and field team will compete Thursday at the Pittsburg State University Tune-Up, hosted at Carnie Smith Stadium.
Originally slated for Saturday, April 19, the event was moved up to Thursday to take advantage of improved weather conditions. The final schedule was updated on Wednesday.

Men's field events begin at 1 p.m. with the hammer throw, followed by javelin at 11:30 a.m., long jump at 2 p.m., high jump at 4 p.m., and the shot put and discus contests starting at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. The men's pole vault is scheduled for 5 p.m.
On the track, preliminary races for the 110-meter hurdles and 100-meter dash begin at 3:20 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. Finals for both are scheduled shortly after 5 p.m. Distance and relay events round out the evening, including the 1500m at 5:40 p.m., 400m at 6:35 p.m., 800m at 7:05 p.m., 400m hurdles at 7:40 p.m., 200m at 8:25 p.m., 5000m at 9:15 p.m., and the 4x400m relay at 9:50 p.m.

The Builders will look to sharpen their performances and continue their postseason push in one of the final tune-ups of the spring season.
