WICHITA, Kan. — The Southwestern College men's track and field team showcased continued growth at the Friends Spring Invitational in Wichita, Kansas, building on their recent performance at the Cowley meet. The team's strong results reflect their ongoing efforts to refine their performances as the outdoor season progresses.
Emerson Williams led the charge with a personal best in the hammer throw, launching a career-best 32.09 meters.
On the track, Ricky Young achieved a personal best in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line in 2:02.06 in a competitive field.
Jamell Sanchez also posted a season-best time of 2:20.72 in the same event, further highlighting the team's steady improvement.
In the 1,500-meter run,
Derek Ponce-Gonzales clocked a new season best with a time of 4:48.78, contributing to an overall strong showing for the Moundbuilders.
