HILLSBORO, Kan. — The Southwestern College Moundbuilders return to KCAC action looking to continue their recent surge when they face the Tabor College Bluejays.
Southwestern enters the matchup at 13-5 overall and 7-5 in conference play, riding momentum from an 86-59 home victory over Sterling College. The win marked the Moundbuilders' seventh victory in their last eight games as they sit in sixth place in what become a tightly contested KCAC race.
The Moundbuilders' offense has been fueled by the backcourt duo of Wyatt Bell and Evan Barber. Bell leads the team and the conference in scoring at 19.1 points per game, while Barber adds 15.2 points per contest. Inside, Nigel John has been a steady force, averaging 13.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. On the glass, Zach Hidalgo has controlled the boards, leading the KCAC with 10 rebounds per game.
As a team, Southwestern has been one of the league's most efficient offensive units. The Moundbuilders lead the KCAC in both field goal percentage (51.8%) and three-point shooting (37.9%), while ranking fourth in the conference in scoring at 82.7 points per game. That efficiency has been a key factor in their climb up the standings.
Tabor enters the contest at 3-14 overall and 1-11 in KCAC play, looking to gain momentum and play spoiler against a Southwestern squad with postseason aspirations.
