Southwestern College Men's Basketball Announced Hiring of Cody Ripato

Southwestern College has announced the hiring of Cody Ripato as an assistant men's basketball coach, adding one of the rising young coaches in the profession with a strong background in player development and program operations.

Ripato most recently spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at LeTourneau University, where he played an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the program. During his time with the YellowJackets, he was actively involved in skill development, scouting, and game preparation, while helping foster a competitive and growth-driven culture.

He also brings valuable international experience and a proven working relationship with Southwestern head coach Matt O'Brien. Ripato has served alongside O'Brien in multiple overseas competitions, including the Paris World Games and most recently in Barbados, where the staff helped lead their team to a gold medal finish.

Ripato has quickly built a reputation as a rising coach in the profession, known for his energy, work ethic, and passion for developing student-athletes.

"We're excited to add Cody to our staff," said O'Brien. "He's a rising star in our profession who brings great energy and a passion for player development. He's already proven he can impact winning at a high level, and our players will benefit from his approach and commitment."

Ripato is expected to make an immediate impact on the Moundbuilders program as Southwestern continues to build toward sustained success. His addition further reflects the strength and reputation of the program, as Southwestern continues to attract high-level coaches who are committed to excellence and growth both on and off the floor.
