WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College softball will travel to North Newton, Kansas, on Wednesday for a doubleheader against Bethel College, with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Moundbuilders enter the contest with a 4–10 overall record and an 0–4 mark in conference play, looking to snap an eight-game losing streak. Despite recent results, Southwestern has seen strong individual performances at the plate. Taylor Mesna leads the team with a .450 batting average, totaling 18 hits and seven runs scored, while Tiara Henry is batting .300 with a team-high seven RBIs. Jolie Boyd has also contributed with a .333 average .
In the circle, Faith Campbell has been a key contributor, posting a 4.73 ERA with 35 strikeouts in 40 innings pitched. Emma Willesden has added two wins over 35.1 innings of work. The Moundbuilders will look to limit early scoring opportunities after being outscored 87–34 through their first 14 games .
Bethel enters the matchup with a 5–9 overall record and a .312 team batting average. The Threshers are led offensively by Katelynn Quidato, who is hitting .481 with five doubles and seven RBIs. Kenzi Young (.354) and Kailey Sandoval (.350) provide additional production for a lineup featuring multiple hitters above the .300 mark .
In the pitching circle, Bethel holds a 6.12 team ERA, led by Emma Killingsworth (3–4, 4.95 ERA) and Emma Figueroa (4.45 ERA) .
Wednesday's doubleheader presents an opportunity for Southwestern to regain momentum and build consistency as conference play continues.
