Andrea Moon Recieves KCAC POTW

WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College's Andrea Moon was named the KCAC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Builders' to a 7-0 victory over William Woods on Feb. 28 at Richard L. Jantz Stadium.

Moon anchored a Southwestern defense that posted a shutout, finishing with six solo tackles, three tackles for loss totaling 24 yards and three sacks. She added a pass breakup and helped limit William Woods to 154 total yards and just two first downs in the contest.

The sophomore made key plays in critical moments, including multiple second-half sacks that stalled drives and preserved the one-score lead. Southwestern recorded four total sacks for 31 yards and held William Woods to 1-of-9 on third down. Her pressure off the edge was a decisive factor in preserving the victory.

Moon becomes one of the first Builders' this season to earn KCAC weekly recognition as Southwestern improves its early-season résumé with a defensive statement performance.
