WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern will hit the road Tuesday for a KCAC doubleheader against University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, as the Moundbuilders look to build momentum in conference play.
The Moundbuilders (6-24, 2-14 KCAC) have shown flashes of growth throughout the season and will look to turn that progress into results as conference play continues.
Offensively, Southwestern has been led by Taylor Mesna, who paces the team with a .377 batting average and 29 hits, while Lainey Hardman (.293) and Jolie Boyd (.290) continue to provide steady production in the lineup. The Moundbuilders have worked to generate timely offense and stay competitive in close contests.
In the circle, Faith Campbell has carried a significant portion of the workload, while Emma Willesden has contributed key innings as the pitching staff continues to develop down the stretch.
Saint Mary enters with a balanced lineup and solid pitching depth, presenting another challenge for Southwestern on the road.
