WICHITA, Kan. — The Southwestern College men's golf team opened its fall season Monday and Tuesday at the Crestview Invitational, hosted at Crestview Country Club in Wichita, Kansas. The Moundbuilders competed in 54 holes over the two-day tournament, playing 36 holes on Monday before closing out the event with 18 holes on Tuesday. 

Senior Jordan Clancy led the way for Southwestern, finishing third individually after putting together rounds of 77, 75 and 65. Clancy's final-round 65 was the lowest round of the tournament and brought him to even par for the event. 

Junior Cameron Surles was next for the Moundbuilders, finishing tied for 25th after rounds of 75, 79 and 79. Junior Christian Campbell followed in a tie for 44th with rounds of 87, 81 and 76, while junior Nico Neuteboom finished tied for 48th after carding rounds of 81, 85 and 80. 

Junior Mitchell Lehman and freshman Matthew Jessee both finished tied for 50th. Lehman recorded rounds of 80, 81 and 86, while Jessee turned in rounds of 81, 84 and 82. 

Sophomore Sydney Schrant finished tied for 56th after rounds of 76, 88 and 86. Sophomore Ian Rue placed tied for 61st with rounds of 89, 97 and 92, followed by junior Dillon Greenwood in 63rd after shooting 99, 91 and 90. 

Freshman Saven Rosales rounded out the Southwestern team lineup in 64th place with rounds of 99, 101 and 106. Junior Zeke Williams competed as an individual and finished with rounds of 118, 102 and 121. 

The Southwestern A team, consisting of Clancy, Surles, Campbell, Schrant and Neuteboom, finished seventh out of 12 teams, while the Southwestern B team of Lehman, Jessee, Greenwood, Rue and Rosales finished 12th. 

The Moundbuilders also produced several notable statistical performances throughout the tournament. As a team, the Southwestern A team played the par-3 holes at +37 (3.62 average), the par-4 holes at +69 (4.46 average) and the par-5 holes at +3 (5.05 average). The Moundbuilders recorded two eagles, 33 birdies and 124 pars during the tournament. 

Clancy led Southwestern in several categories. He played the par-4 holes at +2 with a 4.07 average, which ranked third in the tournament field, while his -7 on par-5 holes and 4.42 average ranked first in the field. Clancy also recorded both of Southwestern's eagles and finished with 13 birdies, the most in the tournament field. 

Lehman led both Southwestern teams on the par-3 holes, playing them at +1, which placed him tied for fifth in the field. Jessee led the Moundbuilders in pars, recording 30 pars, which tied for 16th overall in the tournament. 

The Moundbuilders will return to action September 28-29 when they travel to Salina, Kansas, to compete at Salina Country Club.
