WICHITA, Kan. — The Southwestern men's and women's golf teams will return to action next week when they compete in the Falcon Cup Classic, hosted by Friends University at Auburn Hills Golf Course in Wichita, Kansas. The two-day event tees off Monday, Oct. 13, and concludes Tuesday, Oct. 14.
On the men's side, Southwestern will send a five-man lineup into competition: Christian Campbell, Jordan Clancy, Cameron Surles, Nico Nueteboom and Britt Blackshear. The Builders will look to build consistency and gain momentum with the KCAC Match Play tournament looming next week. The men's team will play two rounds on Monday and one final round Tuesday.
Auburn Hills, a challenging 7,143-yard layout, is expected to test every part of the players' skill set — from precise ball-striking off the tee to strategic play around the greens. The Builders have shown flashes of strong tournament play this fall and will aim to put together a complete performance.
The Southwestern women's team will feature three individuals at the event: Lauren Kelly, Jodi Keener and Lillian Goodwin. Kelly enters the tournament riding a wave of momentum after a third-place finish at the Evangel Fall Invitational. The women will play one round on each day.
Both teams see this tournament as a key tune-up for the KCAC Match Play event, one of the most important competitions on their fall schedule. A strong showing early in the week could set the tone for the next stage of the season.
