JOPLIN, Mo. — Southwestern College's men's and women's golf teams are set to compete in the Evangel Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, October 5th and 6th, at Twin Hills Golf & Country Club, looking to build on recent success as the fall season continues.

The Moundbuilder men enter the event with plenty of momentum after capturing the team title at their home tournament, the Southwestern Fall Invite, last week. Sophomore Cameron Surles led the way with a dominant performance, claiming individual medalist honors, while teammate Jordan Clancy followed closely behind with a runner-up finish.

Surles and Clancy will once again anchor Southwestern's lineup in Joplin, joined by Mitchell Lehman, Christian Campbell, and Drew Demeyer. The group aims to extend its winning ways against a competitive field at Twin Hills, a challenging course known for its rolling terrain, strategic water hazards, and undulating greens. The men's team will play two rounds on Monday, followed by one final round on Tuesday. 

On the women's side, Jodi Keener and Lauren Kelly will represent Southwestern as individuals. Kelly will look to keep her strong play going after finishing runner-up at the Southwestern Fall Invite, shooting a combined score of 158 over two rounds. Keener and Kelly will play one round on both Monday and Tuesday. 

The Evangel Fall Invitational will feature some familiar foes for the Builders, as Tabor College and Friends University will compete in addition to Evangel. Twin Hills, a 6,842-yard course, will test players' accuracy, course management, and short-game precision. Play begins Monday morning, with the final round scheduled for Tuesday.
