Moundbuilders Look to Finish Strong in KCAC Tournament

NEWTON, Kan. — The Southwestern College women's golf team will close out its season this week as it competes in the KCAC Women's Golf Championship, set for Monday through Wednesday, April 27–29, at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.

The three-day event will feature 54 holes of competition, with one round played each day on the par-72 layout. For Southwestern, seniors Lauren Kelly and Jodi Keener will represent the Moundbuilders as individuals in the final tournament of their collegiate careers.

Both players enter the championship with familiarity and confidence on the Sand Creek Station course, having competed there multiple times throughout the fall and spring seasons. Most recently, the duo played in the Bethany College Classic at the same venue, where Kelly posted a strong sixth-place finish while Keener tied for 22nd.

Kelly has been a consistent presence atop the leaderboard for Southwestern this season, and she will look to cap her career with another solid performance. Keener, meanwhile, aims to build on her recent rounds at Sand Creek and finish her senior campaign on a high note.

With experience on the course and one final opportunity to compete at the conference level, the Moundbuilders' seniors will look to make the most of their closing chapter on the links.
