Box Score Bethany, Oklahoma – Southwestern College Rallies for Big Win Over Southwestern Christian
The Southwestern College baseball team put together an offensive explosion in the middle innings to secure an 8-2 victory over Southwestern Christian University on Tuesday afternoon in Bethany, Oklahoma.
After three scoreless innings, the Moundbuilders broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning and added two more in the fifth to take control. Southwestern College's pitching staff delivered a dominant performance, allowing just two runs on five hits while striking out three batters over nine innings.
Leading the offensive charge, A. Markovich went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a walk, while P. Carrillo delivered a clutch bases-loaded hit to drive in three runs. L. Knee showcased his speed on the basepaths, scoring twice and swiping three bags.
On the mound, M. Cleveland got the win, throwing two scoreless innings while allowing just one hit. The bullpen backed him up with seven strong innings, limiting Southwestern Christian to minimal scoring opportunities.
The win marks Southwestern College's second of the season, improving their record to 2-6.Â
