WICHITA, Kan. — The Southwestern College men's and women's golf teams wrapped up play at the Crestview Fall Classic, hosted by Friends University, with the Moundbuilders men's squad finishing ninth in the team standings.
The men's team played two rounds Monday, led by Cameron Surles, who opened with rounds of 76 and 73 for a 149 total. He finished just ahead of teammates Jordan Clancy and Nico Neuteboom, who each posted a 150. Clancy rebounded from an opening-round 81 with a 69 — the lowest score of the day for Southwestern — while Neuteboom turned in back-to-back 75s. Christian Campbell added a 79-78—157, and Britt Blackshear carded rounds of 80 and 82 for a 162.
In Tuesday's final round, the Builders combined for a team score of 298, with Surles posting a 75, Clancy a 74, Campbell a 74, Blackshear a 75, and Neuteboom a 79.
On the women's side, three individuals competed for Southwestern. Lauren Kelly paced the group with rounds of 86-86, while Jodi Keener recorded scores of 105 and 95. Lillian Goodwin carded a 122 in the opening round but withdrew from the final round.
The event concluded on Tuesday at Crestview Country Club. Both teams will be back in action next week, as Southwestern will host the Southwestern Fall Invite at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Winfield, Kansas, on Sept. 22-23.
