NEWTON, Kan.— Southwestern College wrapped up the opening 36 holes of the Mid-South Tournament on Tuesday at Sand Creek Station Golf Course, with several Moundbuilders looking to climb the leaderboard over the final round.
Cameron Surles turned in the best performance of the squad through two rounds, carding a strong 3-under 69 in the opener before slipping to a 2-over 74 in the second round. His even-par total of 143 left him at 1-under overall, placing him inside the top 10 and just within striking distance of the leaders.
Jordan Clancy provided steady play across both rounds, recording matching scores of 73-73 to sit at 2-over 146, tied for 19th in the field. His consistency has kept him in the middle of the pack with room to advance in the final stretch.
Further down the board, Britt Blackshear struggled with a pair of higher rounds, posting a 78 followed by a 76 to stand at 10-over 154. Nico Neuteboom is at 21-over 165 after rounds of 84 and 81, while Nicolas Kern, competing as an individual, sits at 23-over 167.
