NEWTON, Kan. — The Southwestern College men's golf team finished tied for 13th at the Mid-South Tournament, which concluded Wednesday at Sand Creek Station Golf Course. The Builders posted rounds of 301, 304 and 307 for a 54-hole team score of 912.
Sophomore Cameron Surles paced Southwestern with a three-round total of 218. Surles opened the tournament with a team-low 69 in the first round before adding scores of 74 and 75 to finish one stroke ahead of teammate Jordan Clancy.
Clancy turned in consistent rounds of 73-73-73 for a 219 total. Britt Blackshear was next for the Builders, carding 232 (78-76-78).
Rounding out the team score, Nico Nueteboom shot 246 (84-81-81) and Mitchell Lehman finished at 252 (81-88-83).
Competing as an individual, Nicolas Kern recorded a 246 (81-86-79), which did not count toward the team total.
Southwestern will return to action September 15th-16th in Wichita, Kansas.
