SALINA, Kan. — The Southwestern College men's and women's tennis teams competed at the ITA Regional Tournament on Sept. 25-26 in Salina, facing competition from several programs across the region.
The Moundbuilders competed in both singles and doubles play, gaining early-season tournament experience against opponents from Concordia University Nebraska, Bethel College, Morningside College and William Woods University.
Drake Lowe and Jackson Davis competed for Southwestern on the men's side.
Davis opened singles play against Mathys Arnold of Morningside College. Arnold picked up the win, 6-0, 6-1. Lowe faced William Woods University's Tomas Guadagni, with Guadagni advancing following a 6-0, 6-0 result.
Lowe and Davis later joined together for doubles competition against William Woods' Tobias Hajek and Cole Horton. The William Woods pair earned an 8-2 victory.
The tournament gave Southwestern another opportunity to compete against strong regional opponents as the Moundbuilders continue through their fall schedule.
Southwestern will return to action Saturday, Oct. 3, at the KCAC Invitational at the Ward Tennis Center in North Newton, Kansas.
