WINFIELD, Kan. — Southwestern College returns home this weekend to host Tabor College in a three-game Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference series at Broadway Sports Complex.
The Moundbuilders and Bluejays will open the set with a doubleheader Saturday, Feb. 21. First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for 1 p.m., with Game 2 to follow. The series concludes Sunday, Feb. 22, with a single nine-inning game set for 1 p.m.
The matchup marks Southwestern's second KCAC series of the season and presents another early test in conference play.
Tabor enters the weekend with a 7-7 overall record and a 3-0 mark in the KCAC. The Bluejays, led by 17-year head coach Mark Standiford, opened conference play with a three-game sweep of the University of Saint Mary, gaining early momentum in the league standings.
Southwestern comes in at 4-8 overall and 1-2 in conference play. The Moundbuilders most recently split a doubleheader with William Penn University, rebounding to take the second game after dropping the opener.
With both teams looking to establish themselves in the conference race, the weekend series offers an opportunity for Southwestern to gain ground against an unbeaten KCAC opponent while defending its home field.
