YORK, Neb. — Southwestern will look to regroup and get back on track this weekend as the Moundbuilders travel to Levitt Stadium for a three-game KCAC series against York.
The series opens Friday at 5 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Saturday with first pitch set for noon and the finale scheduled for 3 p.m.
Southwestern enters the weekend at 11-28 overall and 8-21 in conference play, seeking to snap a nine-game losing streak. The Moundbuilders have shown offensive production throughout the lineup, hitting .273 as a team with 330 hits and 198 RBIs on the season.
Raisean Dorsey continues to lead Southwestern at the plate with a .400 batting average, five home runs, and 34 RBIs. Sam Benz has added a .345 average with 49 hits, while Gabe Rodriguez (.343) and Brice Nittler (.324) provide additional depth in the lineup. Nathan Perez has also contributed with a .316 average in limited action.
On the mound, Jaden Hensley has been a steady presence with a 4-1 record and a 3.40 ERA across nine appearances, including seven starts. Jaxon Burns has added support out of the bullpen with a 2-0 record and a 5.68 ERA in 15 appearances.
York enters the series at 13-25 overall and 11-15 in KCAC play. The Panthers are hitting .249 as a team and are led by Isaac Gomez (.353), Landon Morgan (.328, 31 RBIs), and Austin Petersen (.275, 18 RBIs). Sam Hodoly adds power in the middle of the lineup with six home runs and 26 RBIs.
On the mound, York carries an 8.61 team ERA, with Bryce Woodard (2-4, 6.00 ERA) and Elvin Ramos (1-6, 7.28 ERA) leading the rotation.
